The infamous Gwendlyn Di Corci Legends card was modeled by Mr. Wendy of Seattle punk band Sick n Wrong. The cat to the right was Georgie Tirebiter, the feline inspiration for their song of the same name. Sub Pop put out a few of their albums in the early 90s, and they were featured in Pete Bagge's "Hate" comics as friends of Buddy's. The band were regulars at The Storeroom and Lake Union Pub, and reportedly Kurt Cobain's favorite local band to see. Mr Wendy had a voice like a mouth full of gravel and whiskey, performed naked with a very large strap on, and you can guess that there was audience participation with that thing (totally unhygienic).
Wendy modeled for me because her full name is also Gwendolyn, so i figured she'd be a shoe in. I knew her from way back in high school and we both attended Cornish College together, the place i was earning my art degree when I started working on the game. Later on, she and I were in a punk band called Rot13 that played Seattle 2001-2006, and she and i were teammates in roller derby with Rat City Rollergirls. I gave her the card art as a thank you, and last i heard, she still owns it.
